System Incident Notifications

Occasionally there might be some system incidents associated with vending machines and lockers.Some examples include

  • Vending machine failed to dispense an item due to variety reasons,like
    • try to dispense from an empty coil
    • malfunctioning coil motor
    • malfunctioning drop sensor
  • Lockers might not be able to report status and other form of errors

When these system incidents happened, there will be incident emails sent to stakeholders.

System incident notifications can be turned on or off from profile page. Please refer to Settings section of this manual.

Notification on Vend Failure

When the cloud server instructed the vending machine to vend, if the drop sensor did not detect the drop, the vend is classified as an incident. In this case, the following email will be delivered instantly to all the stakeholders,

Notification: Failed Dispense on {vending machine name} Vending machine {Vending machine name} location: {vending machine location} selection: {selection}

Viewing Failed Orders

All failed dispense incidents can be reviewed on the Failed Orders page, accessible from the admin dashboard at /failed_orders.

This page lists all orders with a Failure or Aborted state, including:

  • Transaction Reference — unique identifier for the order
  • Date — when the failed dispense occurred
  • Employee — who attempted the transaction
  • Item — the product and selection that failed to dispense
  • Vending Machine — which machine experienced the failure

The list is paginated and sorted by most recent incidents first. Use this page to investigate patterns of dispense failures across your vending machines.
