Key Card Management

Add Key Card for an employee

To add key card for an employee, follow this procedure,

  1. Visit Employee Management page
  2. Find the employee entry in the table
    • Search By Name can be handy to search names with partial match
    • Employee Status can be used to filter out blocked employees
  3. Once found the employee entry, click Edit Employee button in the Operation column
  4. In the Edit Employee popup window, click Key Card Number input box
  5. Use one of the following methods to input the key card number,
    • Tap the key card on the desktop reader (if the keycard is MIFARE or HID access card)
    • Manually input the card number in the field with your keyboard
    • Paste the key card number into the field
  6. After adding card number, click Save button to finalize the operation.

Please note, one employee could have more than one key card associated with the account.

Remove Key Card for an employee

You could remove key card for an employee for different reasons,

  • added wrong keycard
  • replace keycard
  • deprecate keycard system and so on

To remove key card for an employee, follow this procedure,

  1. Visit Employee Management page
  2. Find the employee entry in the table
    • Search By Name can be handy to search names with partial match
    • Employee Status can be used to filter out blocked employees
  3. Once found the employee entry, click Edit Employee button in the Operation column
  4. Below the label of Key Card Number:, it lists all the key cards that have been associated with the employee account. Click the delete button (x) on the right of the key card would disassociate the key card with the employee account.
  5. After delete card number, click Save button to finalize the operation.

Once finished, the key card will be removed from the employee account immediately. Existing transactions would not be affected.

Key Card Tap Events

PPE Vending tracks all the key card tap events on the vending machines and lockers. The events are available on Key Card Tap Events page.

To assign a new keycard to an employee through Key Card Tap Events page, follow this procedure,

  1. Visit Key Card Tap Events page
  2. Find the key card tap event For new key card that’s not in the database, the Employee column should not display employee name
  3. Click Allocate button in the Employee column
  4. In the popup button, input the name in Employee field, and click the right employee in the dropdown menu
  5. After the operation, click Save button to finalize the operation.

Once the operation is finished, the keycard is activated immediately.
