Terminologies

  • Vending on Track Vending on Track is a company that provides telemetry and mobile payment solutions to vending machine operators. It is located in Sydney, NSW, Australia, and has a unique capacity to design, develop and produce Vending on Track product lines.   • Device refers to the Vending on Track modem, as shown in the following sections. It is installed in a vending machine to perform telemetry and payment functions.
  • 4G LTE is the telecom communication standard used by Vending on Track’s device to send data to servers. It is the most advanced and most widely used wireless telecommunications protocol in the country to date.
  • NFC Tag - Mobile phones and applications can tap on an NFC tag to read the pre-programmed data in the NFC tag. These tags are widely used for identification of different types of objects.
  • Telemetry gathers and sends information about vending machines to the operators. The operator can, therefore, monitor a vending machine remotely.
  • MDB is the typical communications cable and protocol used in vending machines. It is the most widely used protocol in vending machines. Its common form factor is the Molex Mini-Fit Jr 4.2mm 6-Pin connector.
  • Planogram – This shows the arrangement of a vending machine. For example, there are 4 rows (trays) in a vending machine and each of them has 4 columns. This information is called a planogram.
  • Product Map - This links each coil to an individual product. The Planogram and Product Map combined will give the full arrangement of the vending machine.
